鱨 School of Nursing has earned national recognition as a 2025 National League for Nursing (NLN) Center of Excellence, an honor that highlights its commitment to enhancing student learning and professional development.
“Being named an NLN Center of Excellence is a testament to the dedication and impact of our faculty and leadership,” said Kenya Beard, Ed.D., AGACNP-BC ANEF FAAN FADLN, dean of 鱨’s School of Nursing. “We are proud to be among such distinguished institutions working to advance nursing education.”
鱨 is one of just 21 nursing education programs across the United States to receive the prestigious designation for the upcoming academic year. Programs selected as Centers of Excellence represent a wide spectrum of nursing schools across the country.
The NLN awards these designations to schools that demonstrate sustained excellence and innovation in key areas such as faculty development, student success, and the advancement of nursing education science. 鱨 was recognized specifically for its focus on enhancing student learning and professional development.
Formal recognition of the 2025 Centers of Excellence will take place during the NLN’s annual Honors Convocation at the 2025 NLN Education Summit, scheduled for Friday, September 19, in Orlando, Florida.
NLN Chair Patricia Sharpnack, DNP, RN, CNE, NEA-BC, ANEF, FAAN, applauded the 2025 designees, saying, “I am so appreciative of the magnitude of the effort it requires of everyone involved in educating an outstanding nursing workforce to earn this national recognition. Congratulations to all the wonderfully deserving 2025 NLN Centers of Excellence designees.”
NLN President and CEO Beverly Malone, PhD, RN, FAAN, added, “We have all heard, ‘It takes a village.’ Nowhere is that truer than in the shared vision and values, mutual support, respect, and inclusivity among faculty, leadership, and students that must come together for an extraordinary nursing program to be nationally recognized for their innovation and commitment.”
